Archive for July, 2019
On Saturday evening, July 20, 2019, we celebrated the success of nine men and women who have successfully completed our 12-month recovery program. Montecito Covenant Church hosted our ceremony and blessed each graduate with a Bible. It was an extraordinary event filled with stories of God’s grace and power to redeem broken lives. These graduates join over 800 individuals since 1997 who have completed the year-long program.
We are holding our eleventh annual fourth of July barbecue dinner for homeless guests on Thursday, July 4 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. The parking lot will be transformed into a festive space for homeless guests to celebrate the holiday. It is a summertime highlight, and we are preparing to serve backyard BBQ style meals to over 300 homeless men, women, and children.
Through the efforts of our Women’s Auxiliary, there will be special music to entertain guests and raffle prizes to be won. The men in our 12-month Residential Recovery Program will also be present to cook, lend a helping hand, and celebrate with guests in patriotic style. This is an opportunity for relationships to be built and the guests who attend learn more about the services the Mission can offer them.
